Vax's eyebrows rose as he looked over at Alcuin, but he wasn't precisely scandalized. He'd got over the most of that after Alcuin had started explaining what his own culture was like.
"Are you... Ashamed? Or embarrassed?" They were actual questions, rather than a sideways dig. "I wouldn't have you feel those things on my account. Whatever I'm inclined to think, who am I to judge you? I'm just a stranger in feathers."
